by | Feb 6, 2020

Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) announced the appointment of Jamie Corr as the new Managing Director of its Sports sector in the UK.

Jamie joins H+K from GMR Marketing, where he specialized in sports marketing consultancy for brands including Bridgestone and Allianz, and their relationship with the Olympics. Before this, Jamie was a member of the Partnership Marketing team at the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Prior to his marketing career Jamie worked for M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, Grayling, and Redbull.

Simon Whitehead, CEO of H+K UK, said: “Jamie really impressed us; his vision for the sector is akin to ours—a team that believes in the power of sport to change lives, working every day to positively impact cultures and change societies for the better.

Corr will work closely with Charlie Morgan, overall MD of H+K UK’s Tech, Sports and Entertainment teams, building synergies across the three pillars of the practice and focusing on brands that sit at its intersection: creating experiences, impacting and enriching lives, powering economies and innovating businesses.

Corr said: “I’ve long admired H+K, whose Sports sector is well known for their creative campaigns. The opportunity to work with them is very exciting, especially during an Olympic year. I believe we can continue to build on recent growth and develop the practice in new ways.”

Corr has a rich heritage in leading brands including Bridgestone, Samsung, GE, RBS, British Airways, Tata Consulting, McDonald’s, Red Bull, John Lewis and Bank of Scotland.

He has been responsible for global sports communications and marketing at major global events including the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, Tata Consulting’s sponsorship of the Tour De France and Red Bull X Fighters. H+K’s Sport portfolio includes HSBC, Adidas, Gillette, Wanda, ITF and Activision.
