Hill+Knowlton Strategies strengthens Public Affairs offering in Barcelona with the appointment of Oriol Llop

Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), leading global communications firm, has reinforced its Regulatory & Public Affairs service with the addition of Oriol Llop as Director of Public Affairs in the H+K Barcelona office.

Llop will help lead H+K’s Public Affairs offering, an area of increasing client demand thanks to the post-COVID-19, increased regulatory and socio-political challenges that companies are now facing. He will report to Francesc Valles, Senior Director of Regulatory & Public Affairs at H+K Spain.

“Creating spaces for dialogue between the public and private sectors is the best strategy to anticipate the new regulatory challenges that will arise, especially in this new post-COVID era,” said Llop. “Now more than ever, Barcelona and its innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem need to create these spaces for new conversations with the public sector.”

With more than 15 years of experience in institutional communications, Llop has been director of communication & brand at the ESADE Business School, deputy director general in the communications department of the Government of the Generalitat, and head of media relations to the President of the government of Catalonia. He is currently a professor of journalism at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and presents the podcast “Emprenedors” on the RAC1 radio station.

Llop’s professional career has always been at the nexus of public administration and business communication. He has deep knowledge of the public and private sectors, as well as a broad understanding of and experience with the decision-making process in Spanish public administrations. He is also actively involved in business startups and entrepreneurial projects, especially in the Barcelona area.

Llop earnt a degree in Journalism and Political Science and Administration from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and has postgraduate degrees from ESADE Business School, Wharton School of Management, Georgetown University and Columbia Business School.
