broadhead, an independent, full-service marketing agency powering brands transforming the way we eat, move and live, today announced the founding of a board of advisors. The four members include industry and subject matter experts Amanda Brinkman, Phil Johnson, Anne Mezzenga and Pete Speranza.
The new board brings deep expertise in the areas of content, retail strategy, agriculture and food innovation as well as within broadhead’s core categories of eat, move and live. As the agency continues to evolve, broadhead will seek additional advisors in key industries — most immediately within the transportation segment due to the acquisition of HMH Agency earlier this year.
“Our organization has grown significantly in the last several years and as we approach future phases of growth, the support of Amanda, Phil, Anne and Pete will ensure we’re on the forefront of transformation across the industries and brands we serve,” said Dean Broadhead, CEO, broadhead. “As our founding advisors, they bring immeasurable insight and guidance that will help us scale.”
With a career guiding Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 brands in understanding and prioritizing content, Brinkman is a producer, filmmaker and public speaker — sharing her “Do Well By Doing Good” philosophy on stages around the country. Recently, Brinkman served as the chief brand officer of Deluxe and creator of the Emmy-nominated series “Small Business Revolution,” which was named among Inc. Magazine’s top shows for entrepreneurs.
Johnson has more than 40 years of experience in the marketing and communications industry and spent the majority of his career serving one of the most tenured advertising agencies in Minneapolis. He brings incredible thought leadership within the agricultural space, as well as deep expertise in client partnerships and developing the skills of agency personnel.
As co-CEO of Omni Talk, one of the fastest-growing media platforms in retail, Mezzenga provides forward thinking on the future of retail and current industry trends. She founded Urban Rooster Shop, a localized e-commerce marketplace, and owns and operates two boutique fitness facilities in the Minneapolis area. Prior to starting Omni Talk, Anne was the director of marketing and partnerships for Target’s “Store of the Future” project.
Speranza is a food industry leader with a background in supply chain and operations from his extensive career at General Mills. His accomplishments include co-founding and building an innovative growth capability through General Mills’ 301 INC venture fund, where he helped invest more than $100 million in emerging brands. Speranza also brings global network and leadership experience from his role as an operating partner at Unovis and currently serves as CEO of Wicked Kitchen, a fast-growing 100% plant-based CPG company.
