Counselors Academy, a section of the Public Relations Society of America, will host the 2018 Counselors Academy Spring Conference in Toronto during May 6-8, 2018.
Conference highlights include Peter Shankman and Duncan Wardle as keynote speakers and educational breakout sessions with tracks focused on agency leadership and management, new social and digital drivers, agency best practices and case studies straight from those “in the trenches.” Throughout the three-day conference, attendees will explore the theme “Finding Strength in Diversity.”
“Whether you’re at the helm of a multinational agency or serving as an independent practitioner, this conference will improve your business acumen,” said 2018 Spring Conference Chair Rebecca Mosley, who is a managing partner at Kiterocket. “From understanding whether the latest communications trends will actually add value to your business to standout employee engagement tools to best practices when it comes to exist strategies, you’ll be engrossed in a diverse array of topics, all of which are vital for senior-level communicators in an agency setting.”
Shankman will keynote the luncheon on Monday, May 7. He is founder and CEO of The Geek Factory, Inc., a boutique social media, marketing and PR strategy firm located in New York City. Additionally, Peter is the founder of ShankMinds: Breakthrough, an online community of business professionals from around the world who come together to give and get advice, increase their business and improve their lives.
Wardle will be the keynote speaker on Tuesday, May 8. For six years, he led the innovation and creativity division for The Walt Disney Company. Today, Wardle is an innovation consultant at iD8&innov8, where he helps companies creatively solve communication challenges.
All sessions and presentations at the three-day conference are tailored to help senior-level communicators address challenges, such as cost-cutting tools and strategies, increasing the agency’s share of the marketing mix, effectively growing and utilizing your team, and promoting thought leadership.
To receive the “saver rate” discount, register before April 5. The conference is open to non-Counselor Academy and non-PRSA members.
