Five-Day Virtual Program Equips Emerging Agency Leaders with Skills for Global Communication

Boulder, Colorado [March 20, 2026]IPREX, the top global network of independent communication and marketing agencies, has concluded its inaugural IPREX Leadership Development Conference (ILDC). 

The five-day virtual program brought together emerging agency leaders to explore how cultural differences shape team dynamics, message interpretation and strategic choices. Complementing IPREX’s established Academy program – which focuses on business fundamentals and client service – the ILDC centers on cultural intelligence as a critical leadership competency, featuring expert panels with both IPREX agency principals and external leadership specialists.

“The ILDC is the only structured leadership program in the independent agency space focused exclusively on cultural intelligence,” said Alexandra Mayhew, IPREX Executive Director and ILDC course designer. “By bringing together emerging leaders from across the Americas to learn from experienced practitioners spanning three continents, we’re ensuring the next generation has the cultural awareness and strategic skills to serve clients in increasingly complex global environments.” 

The virtual format enabled participants from across the Americas to learn from experienced practitioners representing agencies in North America, Latin America and Europe, with live panel discussions featuring experienced agency principals who shared real-world examples of cultural intelligence in practice.

The program, sponsored by Anders CPA, covers four core areas: self-awareness as foundation of leadership, cultural awareness as driver of effective communication, leading teams in complex environments and refining strategies through cultural insight.

Delivering on IPREX’s commitment to develop emerging leaders, the program was designed by Mayhew, IPREX Executive Director, drawing on her experience running an agency and teaching at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Participants continue to have access to program leaders for ongoing support after completing the program.
