Katalyst Names Longtime Collaborator and VP, Dawn Seymour, Partner

Katalyst, a Southern California-based public relations and social media agency is excited to announce the promotion of Dawn Seymour to Partner. With headquarters in San Diego and team members in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, Katalyst provides public relations and social media services to culinary, hospitality, lifestyle, consumer packaged goods and real estate brands.

Dawn has been with Katalyst for nearly 10 years, starting as a contractor with the company in 2013 then joining full time in 2018 as Managing Director, was promoted to Vice President in 2021 and today, a Partner at Katalyst. Throughout her time at Katalyst, Dawn has helped President and Founder Katherine Randall grow the agency, adding new and diverse clients, expanding the services and developing a growing team. Since joining full time in 2018, Dawn has helped double the size of the team, taking Katalyst from five employees to ten. Dawn has also played a huge role in retaining clients as well as consistently bringing in new ones. Most recently, Dawn expanded the company into a new Southern California market, Santa Barbara.

After earning her Masters in Communication/Journalism from American University, Dawn started her career on the media side, working at magazines like Modern Luxury and SURFING Magazine, later joining a leading hospitality PR firm where she tapped into her writing skills and trend expertise to direct campaigns for national lifestyle products and culinary brands. At Katalyst, Dawn has shaped a top roster of clients, building strategies, comprehensive public relations plans and a strong media network. The lifelong foodie lives in Santa Barbara with her two sons and her husband, whom she met while attending UCSB.

From independently owned businesses to multi-location operators, Katalyst represents culinary brands including, Consortium Holding Projects, Puesto, Puffer Malarkey Restaurants, and TRUST Restaurant Group; hospitality brands such as Intercontinental San Diego Hotel, Lakehouse Hotel & Resort and The Guild Hotel; and destination and lifestyle clients such as Belmont Park, One Paseo, Seaport Village, Visit Escondido and more.
