Los Angeles-based public relations firm C&R has hired luxury travel and real estate PR veteran Emily Venugopal to lead its new Manhattan office. The move further positions C&R as a leading full-service agency with strong bi-coastal connections for its international clients and deepens the level of services and relationships for current and future partners. A seasoned communications specialist with an extensive background in luxury hotels, travel and real estate, Venugopal is charged with ensuring overall client success; cultivating and growing relationships with leading journalists, partners and tastemakers; developing a talented East Coast team and furthering the agency’s global footprint.

“As we celebrate our 10th year, we’re perfectly positioned to solidify our capabilities in New York. Emily has an excellent reputation in our industry, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her lead our new office on Madison Avenue,” said C&R Co-Founder Pieter Ruig.

“It’s been a long-term, strategic plan to expand our existing footprint on the East Coast. We see a tremendous opportunity to not only have a stellar bi-coastal team, but to further enhance the offering for our existing and future clients as it relates to media, strategic partnerships and brand awareness,” added C&R Co-Founder Spencer Castillo.

As part of its global client roster including Asia, Mexico, Hawaii and the West Coast, C&R also represents a substantial number of flagship hotels and developments on the East Coast and Caribbean. Current clients include: Palmetto Bluff, Mayakoba, Four Seasons Residences Anguilla, Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay, Pendry Natirar, Thompson Nashville, and Port Ferdinand in Barbados. Venugopal will build on the agency’s existing portfolio of destinations, luxury hotels and real estate developments and sustain winning, long-term relationships by taking on a considered, thoughtful approach to selecting and building partnerships.

Most recently, Venugopal led global PR and strategic partnership efforts for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and The Royal Atlantis Residences in Dubai. Prior to this, she was in-house director of public relations at The Pierre, a Taj Hotel in New York City. In addition, she has spent more than a decade working at some of London, Miami and New York’s finest PR agencies overseeing luxury hotel and travel clients in diverse locations including North America, India, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
