New Jersey Group Operates Top Restaurant & Bar Concepts Throughout the Region
New York, NY (August 22, 2024) – Magrino, a full-channel communications agency based in New York City, today announced the addition of Skopos Hospitality Group to its growing food & beverage portfolio. Skopos Hospitality Group, based in northern New Jersey, began in 2015 when brothers Dean & Thomas Maroulakos re-envisioned a local dive bar in Nutley, NJ, as a 1930’s public house with nostalgic, speakeasy charm. Now, in just under ten years, Skopos has grown to own and operate six exceptional restaurants and bars, with a seventh on the way in late Fall 2024.
As the PR agency of record for Skopos Hospitality Group and its collection of food & beverage concepts, Magrino will provide strategic public relations counsel, communications and influencer relations to open new venues with maximum buzz and reach, while also amplifying the many restaurants and bars in the portfolio that have become beloved, neighborhood staples throughout the region.
- Franklin Social and The Junto Attic Bar, Jersey City, NJ: After closing due to fire damage in early 2024, Franklin Social and The Junto Attic Bar will reopen in late September 2024. Franklin Social is a restaurant and bar inspired by Ben Franklin, offering a modern take on the American Tavern. The Junto Attic Bar is a hidden cocktail haven nestled above Franklin Social, inspired by Ben Franklin’s social club of the same name. It’s a place for friends and neighbors to gather over well-made cocktails in an intimate environment that transports to simpler times.
- Parkside Social, Verona, NJ: A classic American tavern with modern touches, drawing inspiration from nearby Verona Park. A New American menu offers an assortment of share plates, sandwiches & entrees, complimented by a cocktail program that utilizes fresh ingredients and homemade syrups.
- The Barrow House, Clifton, NJ: A Colonial-Era Farmhouse restaurant located on the site of a former farm. Guests can enjoy options from our rustic American Farm Fare menu, 100 bottle curated wine list, handcrafted cocktails, & robust selection of craft beer.
- Cowan’s Public, Nutley, NJ: A neighborhood pub fashioned with cozy, speakeasy charm. At Cowan’s, guests enjoy a robust rotating selection of craft beers, cocktails featuring artisanal spirits and seasonal ingredients, and a modern twist on the traditional pub menu.
- Gus’s Last Word, Wood-Ridge, NJ: Inspired by their grandparent’s 1950’s cellar bar, the Maroulakos brothers tip their hat to that great era of home entertaining. The food menu features classic American bar fare, and the beverage program features plays on classic cocktails.
- Nómada, Verona, NJ: Opening November 2024, Nómada’s aesthetic will be Tulum meets Alcopulco in the 80s, focusing on agave spirits and cocktails, and a fresh, Mexican-inspired menu of tacos and crowd favorites such as esquites and queso fundido.
