Maureen Walsh Named Chief Marketing and Sales Officer for PRSA

PRSA, the nation’s leading professional organization serving the communications community, announced that Maureen Walsh has been named Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. Walsh will report to Interim Chief Executive Officer, Philip Bonaventura, and be based in New York. The appointment is effective immediately.

In this newly created role, Walsh will direct all business development efforts in the areas of membership marketing, sales, corporate sponsorships & partnerships, and revenue sharing. She will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for marketing PRSA’s robust lineup of products and services and developing dynamic campaigns that drive increased brand awareness and membership.

“Maureen brings to PRSA an extensive background in driving revenue, member recruitment and retention as well as vendor management and brand strategy,” said Bonaventura. “Her experience aligns with every aspect of our organization and I look forward to working with her as we continue to evolve our programming and amplify our impact on the communications profession.”

Walsh most recently served as an independent consultant, providing marketing solutions for nonprofits, NGOs, associations and small business startups. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Membership & Marketing for the Craft & Hobby Association. During her tenure, she led the rebranding of the association which resulted in membership growth not seen in 10 years. Her work on the Craft & Hobby Association’s annual event also led to increased exhibitor and sponsor participation.

From 2011-2014, Walsh was Chief Executive Officer of Winn Feline Foundation. Among her many achievements, she increased donations by nearly 115%, oversaw subscriber growth for the organization’s online newsletter by 325% and converted 15% of those subscribers as new donors. Walsh also has held senior level marketing roles with Big Noodle Books, the Institute of Management Accountants and Hobart West Group.

Walsh received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Rutgers University.
