Prosek Partners, an independent public relations and financial communications firm, has appointed Mike Geller as managing director. Geller will be based in New York and joins from Edelman, a global communications-marketing firm, where he held the position of executive vice president in the firm’s Financial Communications & Capital Markets practice.
“As a former client from his days at Royal Bank of Scotland, Mike is someone that we have gotten to know over the years and come to admire for his strong work ethic, leadership abilities and for his skills as both a communicator and counselor,” said Jennifer Prosek, managing partner. “An agency is only as good as its people, and in Mike we are adding a tremendous talent and proven leader to our senior leadership team.”
Geller advises founders, C-suite executives and business leaders of private investment firms and publicly traded financial institutions on strategic communications, including financial and corporate public relations, reputation management and leadership positioning. He has extensive expertise advising traditional and alternative asset managers, investment banks, professional trading firms and diversified financial services organizations. Geller also helps companies manage communications across a variety of special situations, including M&A, divestitures, leadership transitions, complex litigation, creditor rights, enforcement actions and regulatory matters.
“Prosek Partners is widely known and highly regarded within the industry not only for the quality of its work and unmatched expertise in the financial and B2B sectors, but also for its entrepreneurial, collaborative culture,” Geller said. “As a former client, I have experienced firsthand what it is like to work with the agency and its impressive team. I look forward to advising a diverse range of financial institutions and helping Prosek further build and expand its business.”
Prior to Edelman, Geller led public relations for Royal Bank of Scotland’s investment bank in the Americas. Previously, he held senior corporate communications positions at Pershing LLC — a BNY Mellon company — and Cantor Fitzgerald. He began his career at Moody’s.
