Mower’s Travel & Tourism Expertise Earns Gold and Silver at 2020 HSMAI Awards

by | Feb 13, 2020

Mower continues to prove its perennial excellence in travel and tourism marketing, collecting multiple awards at the 2020 Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Awards.

Earning a Gold Adrian Award, Mower’s work with Sofitel New York highlights the hotel’s longstanding ties with the theater community, including its three-year partnership as the official hotel partner of the Tony Awards, and its ability to create immersive, memorable experiences for guests. Engaging media and influencers through press releases, pitching and visits, the campaign inspired more than 85 national and local stories.

Appealing to Game of Thrones fans with the message that Westeros lives on after the hit HBO show’s end, the Go “Beyond the Wall” with CIE Tours campaign brought home a Silver Adrian Award. The campaign highlighted Ireland tours that stop at iconic locations from the series, while broadening awareness and generating positive impressions for the brand. It generated 146 million impressions through media and social audiences last spring.

“We have the privilege of partnering with the most iconic destinations and travel brands in the world,” said Mary Gendron, senior vice president – managing director for Mower. “Our team is committed to collaborating with our clients and exploring creative, authentic ways to share their stories. Receiving recognition from HSMAI is a testament to the success of our team’s approach, hard work and dedication.”

Gendron, who also serves as the head of the agency’s Travel & Tourism specialty, received the HSMAI Winthrop W. Grice Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in public relations in 2011.

Patricia Nugent, Mower vice president-public relations, was tapped as a judge in categories other than those in which Mower had entries.

One of the largest marketing, advertising and public relations agencies in the U.S., Mower is also a four-time PR News “Top Places to Work” winner and a recipient of advertising and integrated marketing awards ranging from Clio, Cannes and ANA B2 awards to rankings in AdAge, PR Weekand Chief Marketer 200.
