Pendry Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Danielle Choi as director of sales and marketing for Pendry Manhattan West, slated to open in summer 2021. In this role, Choi will be responsible for overall sales, marketing, and public relations efforts for the hotel, the brand’s first New York City property, and part of the eight-acre, six-building mixed-use Manhattan West development. The hotel will feature 164 guestrooms including 30 suites; a signature restaurant; a lounge; vibrant open-air terrace bar, and meeting and event space.
“Danielle brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and relationships to the Pendry family,” said Ash Bhasin, general manager at Pendry Manhattan West. “Danielle’s attention to detail, passion for travel, and honed hospitality eye makes her an influential addition to our team as we bring Pendry Hotels & Resorts to The Big Apple.”
Choi steps into her role at Pendry Manhattan West with nearly a decade of marketing experience in the hospitality industry, most recently serving as director of sales and marketing at Gramercy Park Hotel. In that role, she proved to be a dynamic travel industry leader—managing brand identity, executing marketing initiatives and sales strategy to achieve highest possible revenue shares—all while educating and motivating her team for optimal performance. Prior to Gramercy Park Hotel, Choi served as the director of global sales for Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, where she led the corporate negotiated segment globally, managing 60 strategic accounts for 23 luxury hotels and resorts in London, Frankfurt, Rome, Istanbul, Dubai, and Shanghai among others. With a proven track record of delivering results through strategic planning, execution and leadership, Danielle is an expert in brand strategy, marketing partnerships, business development and cross-cultural communication. She sits on the board of L.E Miami’s Hotel Committee and is a past panel speaker at the Virtuoso Regional Symposium on the subject of luxury travel in the Middle East.
Pendry Manhattan West will mark the fifth hotel to open within the Pendry Hotels & Resorts portfolio and is designed by acclaimed architectural design firm, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with interiors by Gachot Studios. The hotel sits within the defining Manhattan West development, a vibrant urban plaza with landscaped gardens and dynamic street-front retail of high-end experiential shops and innovative culinary concepts, located directly between the newly opened Moynihan Train Hall and Hudson Yards. The hotel is designed for the modern traveler looking for polished comforts, paired with engaging experiences in one-of-a-kind spaces.
