NEWARK, N.J., July 10, 2025 – PGIM, the $1.39 trillion global investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), has appointed Emily Garbaccio as chief communications officer, effective June 30, 2025. Garbaccio will dual report to Ted Smith, chief communications officer for Prudential Financial, Inc., and Jacques Chappuis, president and CEO of PGIM.

In her role, Garbaccio will lead the PGIM global communications team and manage all aspects of employee communications, external communications and executive positioning. She will be responsible for developing a strategic, forward-looking communications capability to communicate PGIM’s strategy and protect, promote and enhance the firm’s reputation as a leading active asset manager.

Garbaccio most recently ran her own communications and marketing consultancy, providing strategic counsel to clients navigating leadership transitions, organizational change, and public company readiness. Prior, she served in a dual role at AIG as global head of corporate communications and global chief marketing and communications officer, general insurance, during its historic transformation. Her background includes more than 20 years of in-house and agency leadership roles at companies including Kate Spade, JCPenney, LaForce, and Burson-Marsteller.

Garbaccio holds a Bachelor of Journalism, magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism.
