PRSA Names Northeast District Representative to Board of Directors

by | Dec 20, 2021

PRSA, the nation’s leading professional organization serving the communications community, has named Joshua Poupore, APR, to its Board of Directors to represent the Northeast District. He has been a member of the Capital Region Chapter since 2011.

The Northeast District position became vacant upon the election in October 2021 of Jane N. Law, APR, as PRSA’s Secretary. The PRSA Bylaws empower the Board of Directors to fill the post for the balance of the unexpired term, which runs from Jan. 1, 2022 – Dec. 31, 2022.

Poupore is Senior Vice President of Corning Place Communications, a full-service strategic communications and public affairs agency located in Albany, New York. He previously served as Assistant Executive Director for the New York State Dental Association, Director of Communications for Capitalize Albany Corporation, and held several positions at Harvard University, including Media Relations Specialist and Communications Officer.

As a member of PRSA’s Capital Region Chapter, Poupore has served as Assembly Delegate (2019) Ethics Chair (2018-2020), President (2017), President-elect (2016), APR Chair (2015) and Treasurer (2013-15). He also served as Sponsorship Committee Chair for the 2017 Northeast District Conference Finger Lakes; and on the Steering Committee for the 2011 Northeast Conference Capital Region.

“Joshua is a respected communications professional and longtime PRSA member who has proven his dedication to the organization in a variety of leadership roles,” said Michelle Olson, APR, 2021 PRSA Chair. “His experience at membership associations and belief in the power of communicators to truly make a difference makes him a natural to represent the Northeast District and I look forward to welcoming him to the Board in January.”
