Rock Paper Scissors Taps Music Industry Expertise For New Roles

by | Jan 11, 2023

Rock Paper Scissors, the Music Innovation PR firm, is adding a new role to the C-suite and bringing on a New Business Manager. By promoting from within and hiring new talent, the agency is capitalizing on expertise grown over its 20+ year history and preparing for future growth.

Tristra Newyear Yeager is now Rock Paper Scissors’ Chief Strategy Officer. She has been a creative force at Rock Paper Scissors for seventeen years, where she’s known for synthesizing copious amounts of knowledge at the speed of light. In a natural step up to the C-suite from her previous role as Director of Strategy, Tristra brings her wealth of PR experience and music innovation acumen to oversee PR and client services and to guide strategic planning at a high level.

Tristra’s work is driven by a love of music that stems from her days as a record store employee, continuing through her career as a professional singer and as a concert presenter in New York, and into her life as a publicist.

“I’ve worked in almost every role at Rock Paper Scissors, so I understand the work our PR team does and how it’s evolving with the media landscape,” Tristra remarks, “Moreover, I have crafted PR strategy for clients at every stage of the business cycle and in many music innovation niches, from B2B back-end services to DTC music-making gear.”

Travis Feaster has joined Rock Paper Scissors as New Business Manager. His background unites first-hand music industry experience with expertise in sales. He deeply understands music innovation from the musician’s perspective, first touring Europe as a guitarist with his band, then managing customer service with Wampler Pedals—even co-designing two pedals—and working in B2B sales roles at Guitar Center and Boutique Amps Distribution.

Travis’s eclectic background fits right into a company that prizes creativity and authentic communication. “The tech and innovation side of music has always been a passion of mine, so I’m very excited to make it my main focus as New Business Manager at RPS,” Travis explains.
