STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Retains PHA Media

by | Dec 8, 2017

London-based public relations agency PHA Media has been appointed by STIHL in a competitive pitch to oversee its UK PR and communications for international extreme sports competition series STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championship in Liverpool next year.

The event will be held in the UK for the first time in 2018 and will take place at the Echo Arena Liverpool on 19th and 20th October 2018. PHA Media has been hired to promote the event and TIMBERSPORTS more broadly to a UK audience, in order to drive ticket sales.

Simon Hewitt, Head of Marketing at STIHL GB said: “It’s a massive honor to be hosting the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championship in Great Britain next year and we’re confident we’ll get great results with the team at PHA Media working alongside us. They impressed us at the pitch with their experience and track record of giving non-mainstream sports a profile, so we look forward to them being able to do the same for TIMBERSPORTS, to open up the sport and indeed the STIHL brand to new audiences across the country.”

Katie Matthews, Head of Sport and Fitness at PHA Media, added: “We are delighted to be working with the team at STIHL on the 2018 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championship, as they bring this international competition to the UK for the first time. We recently attended the 2017 World Championship in Lillehamer, Norway and were blown away by the spectacle of the whole thing and the skill and athleticism on display. The 2018 event is sure to provide the audience in Liverpool with more of the same and we look forward to showcasing the sport and the entertainment factor it offers to a whole new audience throughout next year.”
