REYKJAVIK, ICELAND/CORK, IRELAND: Today, Strategic and #WeLeadComms have announced they are joining forces, with Strategic founder and publisher Orla Clancy and #WeLeadComms founder Mike Klein moving forward with an integration of their platforms.

This integration will connect #WeLeadComms’ more than 20,000 followers on LinkedIn with Strategic’s established platform for delivering thought leadership, news and further opportunities to communication leaders. #WeLeadComms is the world’s largest recognition program for communication professionals.

With the move, Clancy remains as publisher of Strategic, with a focus on global expansion, while Klein becomes Strategic’s editor-in-chief. Klein’s role will be additional to his work in communication consultancy and his leadership of #WeLeadComms.

Strategic will quickly and significantly increase its content flow with a global columnist network, powered by contributions from #WeLeadComms’ more than 1,000 honorees around the world. In return, the Strategic platform will ultimately provide a permanent home for the #WeLeadComms community, support a range of online and in-person events, and become a highly attractive and efficient sponsorship and advertising platform with deep penetration into the global communication profession. Paid subscriptions are replaced in favor of a free one-time email registration to access all content on the Strategic platform.

Clancy said: “I started Strategic in 2020 to provide a platform for industry experts to educate and influence peers and decision-makers about the communication industry. By welcoming the #WeLeadComms community of industry leaders to Strategic, and with Mike Klein at the helm as editor-in-chief, our mission to elevate the communication industry globally will scale to new heights. Through one platform, Strategic and #WeLeadComms will provide a collaborative network to demonstrate the value communication brings to organizations. It will be the home of communication leadership.”

“This is intended as a truly strategic move – and not just for the name of the platform!” said Klein. “Integrating #WeLeadComms with Strategic fills one of the major gaps for the communication profession: turning it into a regenerative, accessible and dynamic third-party platform for established and emerging thought leaders to publish their content. It also provides a clearly defined space for the #WeLeadComms community and recognition program, reducing our dependence on LinkedIn and improving our ability to demonstrate value to our sponsors, partners and advertisers.”
