by | Dec 21, 2018

Subject Matter announced that Capitol Hill veteran Natalie Farr Rogers will join the firm’s government relations team beginning January 7, 2019. Rogers most recently worked as Chief of Staff to Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) and has deep experience on Capitol Hill having worked for the House Republican Study Committee, in Congressional Affairs at the Department of Labor and for former-Representative John Shadegg (R-AZ).

“As the new Congress is poised to begin consideration of a range of issues from infrastructure and technology to energy and international issues, Natalie’s expertise will be invaluable to our clients. We are excited to expand our capabilities with Natalie as part of the team,” said Subject Matter partner Steve Elmendorf.

Rogers brings to Subject Matter – the creative advocacy firm that combines government relations with creative content, advertising, and strategic communications – significant experience in policy formulation and advocacy.

Since 2011, Rogers has held senior positions with then-Representative now-Senator Cory Gardner, serving as his Chief of Staff in both offices. At the Republican Study Committee, she provided in-depth analysis on issues before the Judiciary and Education & Labor Committees, as well as on trade, foreign affairs and campaign finance.

“From my first day as a Congressman representing the fourth district of Colorado to the last four years in the Senate, Natalie Farr Rogers has been by my side every day helping me best serve the people of Colorado,” said Gardner. “Natalie knows how to get the job done and is one of the most compassionate people I have ever worked with. Her care for everyone on staff is unparalleled and I will miss her sound advice and trusted counsel each and every day. Over the past eight years, Natalie has become a part of my family and I know my entire family, as well as every single staffer, will miss her as much as I will. I wish her the best as she begins this next chapter.”

“In the era of divided government, the most complex deals in Washington only come about through bipartisan efforts and effective leadership,” said Subject Matter partner Jimmy Ryan. “Natalie’s firsthand experience working in senior positions in both the House and the Senate, as well as in the executive branch, make her an ideal advocate to help achieve consensus on major issues.”

“At such a critical time in Washington, DC, I look forward to assisting companies and industries at the forefront of the global economy navigate the intricacies of the federal government to achieve their objectives. Subject Matter has some of the most prominent political strategists in the city and has a reputation for successfully advocating on their clients’ behalf. I am looking forward to being a part of this talented team,” said Rogers.
