Tech Startup SPARK Neuro Chooses 5WPR as AOR to Drive Exposure for its Funding Round and Grow the Brand in the U.S. Market

by | Oct 10, 2018

5W Public Relations, one of the 10 largest independently owned PR firms in the U.S., is announcing that it has been named PR Agency of Record for SPARK Neuro, the company pioneering the use of neuroanalytics within corporate research. Founded in 2017, SPARK Neuro is revolutionizing the evaluation of audience engagement in advertising and entertainment.

SPARK Neuro’s proprietary technology means that instead of relying on traditional biased approaches to research, SPARK Neuro goes right to the source, measuring brain and other nervous system activity to see exactly when people are engaged and when they are not. Able to provide unparalleled results for its clients, SPARK Neuro quantifies attention and emotional levels with second-by-second precision.

To kick off the engagement 5WPR developed and executed a strategic funding announcement surrounding its $13.5 Million Series A led by Thiel Capital, and with participation from actor and producer Will Smith, and media and entertainment industry titan Michael Eisner’s Tornante Company. This announcement, which targeted tech, business and entertainment press, resulted in top tier coverage in outlets such as TechCrunch, Forbes, Variety and Fortune.

Pivoting off the back of this highly successful announcement, 5WPR kicked off its thought leadership campaign positioning SPARK Neuro’s technology and its CEO Spencer Gerrol as go-to thought leaders in the world of advertising efficacy. As Nike’s ad starring Kaepernick took the world by storm, SPARK assessed the brain activity of self-identified Democrats, Republicans and Independents to uncover how the ad impacted viewers. With a profile piece in AdWeek, SPARK showed advertisers how things such as political leanings or personal biases will impact how ads are received.

“SPARK Neuro is one of the hottest technology companies to set up its HQ here in Silicon Alley and will become the status quo for how major brands measure the efficacy of their advertising and consumer engagement strategies,” 5W CEO Ronn Torossian affirmed. “SPARK helps household brands like Anheuser-Busch, Clorox, FedEx, General Motors, and JetBlue tell their story through advertising effectively, and we are extremely proud to be their partner as we begin to tell the world about their capabilities.”

SPARK Neuro CEO Spencer Gerrol said, “5W has a reputation of being a firm who runs alongside entrepreneurs, and gets results. We are transforming the ways that brands advertise and develop content and we needed a proven partner to help us tell that story. We couldn’t have asked for a more passionate and strategic team.”
