TUSCALOOSA, Ala., June 24, 2024The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations Board of Advisors has announced the appointment of two new board members: Geoff Curtis and David Grossman. The Board of Advisors encompasses seasoned public relations practitioners, all of whom utilize their passion, wisdom and expertise to aid in the mission of The Plank Center. Furthermore, the board provides oversight and counsel on decision-making and strategic planning for the future of the Center.

“The goals of The Plank Center remain steadfast,” Dr. Karla Gower, director of The Plank Center, said. “The board is confident that our newest additions will continue our mission to empower and advance the next generation of emerging leaders in the profession. We are excited to welcome them to the group and look forward to working with them.”

Geoff Curtis founded Marshall Curtis Communications in March 2024, which partners with purpose-led organizations to give voice to vision and shape strategy. Previously, Curtis was the executive vice president, corporate affairs and chief communications officer for Horizon Therapeutics where he was known as the resident “problem solver.”   

“I have long admired the work the Plank Center has done for emerging public relations industry leaders, and it is an honor to join this accomplished group of advisors to continue that inspiring work.,” Curtis said. “I am committed to doing what I can to equip young professionals with the skills and knowledge so that they can lead with integrity and make a significant impact in our industry.”

David Grossman

David Grossman

David Grossman is the Founder and CEO of The Grossman Group, a leadership and communications consultancy that focuses on organizational consulting, strategic leadership development, and internal and change communications comprising a highly-curated senior team. With a background in organizational development and psychology, he helps leaders drive productivity and get the results they want through authentic and courageous leadership.
