Leading independent PR agency, The PHA Group has been appointed by Union Hand-Roasted Coffee (Union) – a speciality coffee roaster with an award-winning sourcing initiative.
Union was created in 2001 by founders Steven Macatonia and Jeremy Torz after they witnessed the devastating impacts of volatile coffee markets on farmer communities. They set up a new sourcing initiative, Union Direct Trade, with the principle of marrying high quality speciality coffee with responsible sourcing, making coffee better for everyone from drinkers to farmers.
Celebrating their 20th Anniversary in 2021, Union is one of the early pioneers of speciality coffee in the UK and positively impacts the lives of over 65,000 individuals in coffee-producing countries. This year they’ve been awarded the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Enterprise and received their B Corp certification.
The brand sources from 14 countries from over 42 producer partners, hand-roasting a broad range of coffees in their East London roastery – from bestselling blends to unique single origins.
