Women at The Mars Agency Take Top Industry Honors and Awards

The Mars Agency recognized several of its employees for receiving top industry honors and awards from the Path to Purchase Institute and Crain’s Detroit Business.

Bree Glaeser, Director, Shopper Innovation & Voice Practice Lead, won the 2018 Path to Purchase Women of Excellence Award for Innovation. Bree earned the honor for her work with SmartAisleTM, which leverages emerging voice technology in brick-and-mortar environments. Several other Martians were honored with nominations in each of the four categories: Theresa Lyons, SVP, Strategic Planning, for Collaboration; Amy Andrews, SVP Business Development & E-Commerce, Michele Roney, SVP, Client Leadership, and Ellen Stiffler, VP, Client Leadership, for Leadership; and Gia Cyrier, VP, Client Leadership, Bree Glaeser, and Jessica Mack, Manager, Media Activation, for Rising Star.

The Path to Purchase Women of Excellence Award celebrates brand marketers, retailers, agency executives, and solution providers for their achievements in influencing shoppers along the path to purchase. Winners and nominees were recognized at the Path to Purchase Institute Expo, October 2-4 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Michele Roney, was chosen as one of the Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women in Marketing/Communications in Michigan and will be featured in a special October 8th issue of Crain’s. In addition to managing multiple accounts, mentoring several up-and-coming Martians and participating in various projects around the community, Michele leads the Retail Solutions discipline, which establishes processes, online systems, and tools for retailers to create omnichannel experiences.

Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women are nominated by peers and selected by Crain’s for being leaders in the workplace, in the Michigan marketing/communications industry and in the community.

“We are so proud of the work that these Martians do every day, and the recognition that they are receiving,” says Rob Rivenburgh, CEO North America. “They’re shining examples of Martians who are leading the charge for innovation in the shopper and consumer marketing disciplines.” Ken Barnett, Global CEO of The Mars Agency, adds, “My mother, Marilyn Barnett, was the first woman to open and lead a shopper marketing agency. She’d be proud to see how successful women here continue to be.”
