Zapwater Communications Named Agency of Record for Hotel La Compañía, Hyatt’s First Unbound Collection Hotel in Central America

Zapwater Communications, Inc. has been retained by Hotel La Compañía, part of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt, to launch the landmark Panamanian hotel in the North American media marketplace. Located in Panama City’s historic district, Casco Antiguo, Hotel La Compañía will mark the completion of a meticulous seven-year restoration project when it opens its doors this spring.

“Hotel La Compañía is a one-of-a-kind hotel that needs a one-of-a-kind PR strategy,” said David Zapata, CEO and founder of Zapwater. “We’re thrilled to be a part of the team opening a hotel that will have an impact not only on the area in which its located, but on the entire tourism product in Panama.”

The hotel, originally built in the 17th century as a Jesuit convent, is being delicately restored by an expert team of designers, architects, and historians to create a living museum where the history of Panama will be showcased through a bold and contemporary design concept. The finished product will feature 88 luxurious guestrooms, five restaurants, two bars, an expansive internal courtyard, spa, fitness center, and rooftop sky lounge complete with infinity pool and panoramic views of the city.

The agency will handle media relations, influencer marketing, strategic partnerships, and in-market events from of its Miami outpost on behalf of the hotel.
