Zapwater Communications Named Public Relations AOR for Veggie Grill

by | Aug 8, 2018

Zapwater Communications announced that Veggie Grill, the nation’s leading plant-based fast casual brand, has expanded its relationship with the agency to include all national public relations programming as of July 1, 2018.

Zapwater was originally retained in December 2017 to support the launch of Veggie Grill’s Chicago store openings. After a highly successful campaign there, the agency’s scope of work was increased to comprise the entire United States. As Veggie Grill rapidly grows with locations set to open in new markets nationally, as well as in California and Illinois, Zapwater will continue to be a strategic partner for the brand. Zapwater’s scope of work includes media relations, influencer relations, event coordination, local store marketing and strategic partnerships.

Increased interest in the health and environmental benefits of plant-based eating has opened the door for Veggie Grill’s expansion into both traditional and non-traditional markets. Since its Southern California inception in 2006, Veggie Grill has disrupted the fast-casual landscape by offering craveable and chef-inspired food that is 100% plant-based. The menu is a seasonal celebration featuring bold, crowd-pleasing dishes where vegetables are the center of the plate. With 30 locations currently in California, Oregon, Washington and Illinois, Veggie Grill is the largest plant-based chain in the United States.

“We are honored to be Veggie Grill’s trusted partner at this exciting time in the company’s growth,” says David Zapata, president of Zapwater Communications. “Veggie Grill’s passion for creating veggie-centric food that is innovative and sustainable sets them apart from their competitors. We look forward to sharing the Veggie Grill story with national and local media, influencers and consumers.”

The account will be managed jointly by Zapwater’s Chicago and Los Angeles offices.
