MediaMiser obtains U.S. sentiment patent

by | Jan 10, 2011

MediaMiser, a media monitoring and analysis technology company, has been granted a U.S. patent for its new methodology to accurately assign sentiment or tone values to traditional and social media coverage.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office patent, number 7860872, was issued to MediaMiser on Dec. 28, 2010, just a few months after the Ottawa company obtained a Canadian patent covering its technology.

“ Besides protecting our intellectual property and providing tangible value to our company, this patent demonstrates our commitment to constantly innovate our cutting-edge product and deliver solutions of real value to our clients,” says Brett Serjeantson, MediaMiser’ s CEO and chief technology officer.
