Ottawa – MediaMiser Ltd., Canada’s leading provider of media analysis and public relations measurement solutions, presented its annual Turning News into Knowledge award to graduating Algonquin College Public Relations student Roger Pankhurst at a ceremony at the college last night.
The cash award goes to a student who demonstrates excellence on a project using MediaMiser’s Enterprise software. The winner is selected by MediaMiser executives.
“We decided to donate this award as a way to give back to PR students, and to the program that influenced our careers,” says Chris Morrison, a 1995 graduate of the Public Relations program, and VP of Client Services as well as Co-founder of MediaMiser Ltd. “We also wanted to give students an idea of what media analysis and measurement is, and highlight the important role it plays in the modern communications and PR workplace.”
The award is part of MediaMiser’s five-year, $5,000 donation for students of the Public Relations program. Mr. Pankhurst is second recipient of the award.
MediaMiser has been a strong supporter of the public relations program at Algonquin College by offering co-op work terms to students and providing employment for graduates. Mr. Morrison is also a member of Algonquin College’s Public Relations program Advisory Committee, which assists in the evaluation of the program and in its assessment in relation to the needs of the community.
