Anne Gearan Joins Finsbury Glover Hering from The Washington Post

Leading global strategic communications advisory firm Finsbury Glover Hering (FGH) announced longtime distinguished journalist Anne Gearan will join the firm as a partner in the Washington office. Gearan brings extensive foreign affairs and political acumen to the firm and will provide strategic counsel to a broad range of FGH clients.

Gearan comes to FGH from The Washington Post, where she was a White House correspondent with a focus on foreign policy, national security and politics and, among other assignments, the lead political reporter covering Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. She also serves as an on-air political contributor for NBC News and MSNBC. Prior to her time at The Washington Post, Gearan reported for the Associated Press, serving as chief diplomatic correspondent, Pentagon correspondent, White House reporter and national security editor, and for CNN.

During her career, Gearan has covered the White House across four presidential administrations, five secretaries of state, and the Pentagon during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She has reported from every U.S. state and more than 80 countries, with foreign affairs expertise in the Middle East, Europe, China and Russia, as well as the United Nations, the European Union and NATO. Earlier in her career, Gearan covered the Supreme Court, with Bush v. Gore her first big case.

She is a graduate of Allegheny College and grew up in Pittsford, N.Y. She lives in Washington.
