BackBay Communications, a leading integrated financial services public relations, content and digital marketing firm, announced that Donna Mitchell has joined BackBay’s Asset and Wealth Management group as a Media Strategist. Donna brings more than 20 years of financial reporting, editing, and thought leadership experience to the role, having written about the asset management industry extensively for several leading publications throughout her career.
As a Media Strategist, Donna will work with BackBay’s asset management, wealth management and impact investing clients, providing strategic counsel, writing articles for executives and pitching news stories to the media.
Before joining BackBay, Donna provided freelance clients with a range of editorial services focused on the commercial real estate, structured finance, wealth management and personal finance industries. Previously, she was a senior editor for Financial Planning magazine, the leading publication for independent financial advisors, and was a managing editor for Asset Securitization Report, a leading publication following the asset-backed securities markets. Donna earned her B.A. in Communications from Rowan University.
“We are pleased to welcome Donna to BackBay,” said Bill Haynes, Founder & CEO of BackBay Communications. “As we’ve grown over the years, we’ve found that hiring experienced former journalists like Donna as dedicated media strategists provides our clients with access to the best writing, pitching and story ideas that help them build their brands and drive new business.”
“It’s exciting to join a growing agency with a dedicated focus on asset and wealth management,” said Mitchell. “I look forward to working with BackBay’s premier list of clients to generate content and media coverage, grow their brands and increase share of voice in a competitive environment.”
