Cooksey Earns Seven dotCOMM Awards Honoring Excellence in Web Creativity and Digital Communication

Cooksey Communications recently received two Platinum Awards, two Gold Awards and three honorable mentions in the 2021 dotCOMM Awards, an international competition. This program is unique in that it spotlights the critical role of creative professionals in continually evolving web, social media and digital platforms.

The seven award wins highlight Cooksey’s diverse and robust experience in using digital public relations and content marketing tools. Cooksey’s Platinum and Gold-level recognitions in this awards competition were as follows:

PLATINUM 

  • Article or News Placement (Earned Media) – VanTrust Real Estate: Cooksey secured an online article in CoStar News, “Growth in Dallas Area Is So Strong, This Developer Finished an Office Building With No Leases,” featuring an interview with commercial real estate development company VanTrust Real Estate. The article discussed The Offices Three at Frisco Station, the third office addition to the 242-acre mixed-use development, Frisco Station, and the strength of the Dallas real estate market. 
  • Blog Placement (Earned Media) – The Rainier Companies: Cooksey provided insight for Rainier President and CEO Danny Lovell’s blog post, “Suburban Flight: How COVID-19 Altered the Retail Landscape,” in D CEO Magazine’s online commercial real estate expert opinion section. The article addressed how the pandemic caused a shift in consumer demand to high-quality retail centers in the suburbs.

 GOLD

  • Article or News Placement (Earned Media) – Irving Economic Development Partnership (IEDP): Cooksey secured a bylined, print article in Texas Town & City, “How Planning and Collaboration Established Irving as the Headquarters of Headquarters,” written by Chris Hillman, Irving city manager, and Beth Bowman, president and CEO of IEDP and the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. The article discussed how Irving has become known as the “Headquarters of Headquarters” and the collaborative planning and active investment that have set it up for growth and success.
  • Article or News Placement (Earned Media) – City of Anna: Cooksey organized a photo shoot and interview for an online Dallas Business Journal article, “Anna’s Time to Shine,” for the Anna Community Development Corporation. It included an inside look at the development strategy of Anna, one of the fastest-growing cities in North Texas. The article resulted not only in the March 2021 web-based placement, but also a cover story in the Dallas Business Journal print edition, “North Texas Goes North,” two months later.

 dotCOMM Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, the international organization that oversees awards and recognition programs and honors outstanding achievement and service to the profession.

There were more than 2,000 entries from throughout the United States and many other countries in the 2021 dotCOMM Awards competition. Typically, about 13% of entries win Platinum, the top award, and around 13% win the Gold Award. Approximately 5% are Honorable Mention winners.
