Omni Hotels & Resorts has named Current Marketing, part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, as public relations agency of record. Current is charged with developing and executing communications programming to support the brand and its 60 properties throughout North America.

“As our portfolio expands and our brand evolves, we needed an agency partner to help us unify our public relations strategy across corporate and individual property efforts,” said Peter Strebel, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Current demonstrated a deep understanding of our business, and got us excited with strategic and creative ideas that align with our brand vision.”

As Omni moves into 2018, differentiating the brand from its competition is at the forefront. As a leader in the upper-upscale group and leisure space, Omni properties offer guests unmatched service and authentic experiences designed to leave a lasting impression.

“We are thrilled to partner with Omni Hotels & Resorts, marrying our travel category expertise with our unique marketing for real lives approach to deliver impactful results,” said Virginia Devlin, founder and president of Current.

Current’s work will focus on building brand and property awareness among key stakeholders, launching new properties, and developing creative programming and promotions that will help Omni stand apart from the competition.

The account will be supported across Current’s offices in New York, Chicago and San Francisco under the leadership of Sarah Anderson, an executive vice president at the agency. Other Current travel clients include Azamara Club Cruises, Club Med and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
