The Austin-based agency earned the honor after a year of national media placements, strong client retention, and 100% employee retention.
With a signature style of creative ingenuity and out-of-the-box strategizing, Disrupt PR had a remarkable year in 2025, capturing bountiful earned media for clients with a narrative-focused pitching style, and generating an abundance of client loyalty along the way. In addition, the firm has built a company culture that resulted in 100% employee retention last year. All of these elements and an aggressive, results-driven mission earned the firm a Gold Award for Best Boutique Agency in Bulldog Reporter’s 2025 PR Awards. Here, the agency shares some of its valuable industry insight:
How would you describe your unique value proposition and agency mission?
At Disrupt PR, we don’t follow the media cycle—we disrupt it. Our mission is simple but powerful: to make our clients household names through earned media that actually moves the needle. In an industry overrun with vanity metrics and fluff, we deliver measurable impact by landing real press in top-tier outlets and then helping clients turn that press into authority, conversions, and traction.
Founded by a former national TV reporter, Disrupt PR is built by journalists, for clients. Our team of former newsroom pros knows exactly how to position, package, and pitch a story—because we used to be the ones saying yes (and no) to those very pitches. That insider perspective means our clients stand out in even the most crowded inboxes.
We’ve built a proprietary, journalist-first pitching process that emphasizes storycraft, relevance, and bold angles. Our small-but-mighty team punches far above our weight, outmaneuvering big agencies with red tape and robotic media lists. Every client, regardless of size, gets our senior-level brainpower and relentless hustle.
Disrupt PR has become the go-to agency for ambitious brands with stories that deserve national attention. From venture-backed health tech to emerging CPG disruptors, we don’t just secure press—we spark momentum. We even give our clients playbooks to amplify their wins across owned and paid channels.
Our value prop? We get results. That’s why our clients’ websites crash from coverage. That’s why founders cry tears of joy. That’s why we were named Best New Agency 2023. Disrupt PR isn’t just another agency—we’re a movement.
Tell us about your firm’s level of client retention.
Our growth isn’t just about volume—it’s about loyalty. Seventy percent of our new business came from client referrals, and nearly all clients renew or expand scope within the first 6 months. We’ve become the behind-the-scenes engine driving growth-stage brands, funded startups, and consumer tech companies into the national spotlight.
For example, after working with us for over a year, one of our clients left in pursuit of a larger agency with “more connections.” Just three months later, they returned. “I didn’t realize that landing television features on ABC LA, CBS LA, national radio appearances, and 3–4 major podcast interviews every week wasn’t standard,” they said. “Disrupt PR set the bar incredibly high”—with over 1.4 billion total online readership and 65+ placements in 3 months (including NBC Los Angeles, CBS LA, and a live demo-TV tour in 13 US cities). “Once I worked with a larger agency, I quickly realized how rare those results were.”
At Disrupt PR, we don’t just retain clients—we raise the standard of what’s possible. And when clients leave, they often come back.
Can you describe your agency’s work culture? What kinds of innovative HR practices or employee development and benefit programs do you have?
Disrupt PR is built differently—on purpose. We’ve designed a work culture rooted in flexibility, trust, and humanity, with a focus on hiring and retaining exceptional talent who also happen to be mothers. While unconventional, this intentional choice has created one of our greatest strengths: a loyal, driven team that brings unparalleled empathy, precision, and follow-through to every campaign.
In the past year, we maintained 100% employee retention. We’ve learned that the greatest gift we can give our people isn’t a virtual happy hour or a subscription to a meditation app—it’s time. Time to care for their children without guilt. Time to structure their work around real life. We don’t just say we support balance—we’ve built it into our DNA.
Our agency is fully remote, which allows team members to live well, work well, and stay engaged long-term. We previously experimented with traditional wellness perks—mental health stipends, tarot card readings, even virtual parties. But, in response to employee feedback, we radically rethought our approach—prioritizing family time through expanded paid time off. At any time and on day day – an employee can leave to spend time with their family.
At Disrupt PR, we have a flexible family-first policy. At any time, on any day, our employees are empowered to step away for important family moments—no questions asked. Whether it’s a school concert, a kids’ doctor’s appointment, or just quality time with their kids, we trust our team to prioritize what matters most.
Congrats on your well-deserved award win, Disrupt PR! And to all of your success!
