Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), international public relations agency, has appointed Gonzalo Lamas as head of financial communications. Lamas joins H+K to build the financial comms practice, after several years working at Porter Novelli and local agency, Evercom.
“I don’t think there is any industry where helping companies communicate with the public is as important as it is in the financial sector,” said Lamas. “At H+K, I’ll get to help our clients have conversations with the public on a global scale. In his career thus far, Lamas has more than six years of specialization in financial comms as a consultant in PR & communication agencies both multinational and local. With deep experience in financial sectors including banking, insurance, asset management, real estate and financial education, Lamas has actively participated in the definition and development of reputation strategies and campaigns. His previous clients include J.P. Morgan, Ibercaja, CNMV, INVERCO, EFPA, Aegon, Bestinver, Horos AM, Solunion, CORPFIN or Clarke Modet & Co. among others.

Lamas holds degrees in Law and Journalism from the San Pablo CEU University of Madrid, and an MBA from the EAE Business School. In addition to his expertise and multidisciplinary interests, he has also worked in the legal sector, private business and media.
In his role at H+K Lamas will oversee the financial communication department’s activity and advise clients at a strategic and tactical level. He will provide them with different solutions and approaches that allow them to anticipate, differentiate and generate value.
