GMMB announced that Kimberly Hefling has joined the firm as a Vice President. Kimberly brings several years of experience in education policy and communications. She previously served for four years as the senior education writer for POLITICO, focusing on federal and state K-12 and higher education policy. Her duties included working as an author for the Morning Education daily newsletter. She also spent 18 years as a reporter for The Associated Press, where she served as the national education writer.
At GMMB, Kimberly will be working with foundations, advocacy organizations, and education agencies. Kimberly also brings extensive knowledge of community stakeholders, including parents, teachers and veterans.

Before taking on the education beat, Kimberly covered diverse topics for The Associated Press that included Pennsylvania politics, Appalachia, veterans, and military home front issues. She also served as an embedded reporter in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 101stAirborne Division.
A native Kansan, Kimberly graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications.
