McDonald’s Franchises in New England Name SHIFT Communications as Agency of Record

by | Feb 20, 2018

SHIFT Communications, an integrated communications agency, announced its Boston-based consumer portfolio is now representing more than 500 McDonald’s restaurants and nearly 75 McDonald’s franchisees across the New England area. SHIFT began working with McDonald’s of Eastern New England in 2012, serving restaurants in Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

SHIFT’s expanded McDonald’s responsibilities include leading public relations efforts for the full New England region. SHIFT’s work will include media relations, event execution and general brand building efforts, and local support of national initiatives.

“Over the last six years, we have collaborated with New England McDonald’s owner/operators to create and activate aggressive, forward-thinking strategies to accompany the innovative transformation that McDonald’s is undergoing,” said Annie Perkins, lead strategist on the account, who was recently named a 2017 Top Woman in PR by PR News. “During that time, we demonstrated to franchisees that we can take their business into the future with campaigns including a dynamic influencer program, the successful launch of All Day Breakfast and McDelivery in Greater Boston, and more.”

The agency will be an important partner to the local franchisees as New England McDonald’s owner/operators invest in remodeling restaurants, launching new food and beverages, and raise the bar on the overall McDonald’s guest experience.

“We look forward to building on the positive work SHIFT Communications has done for us in the past, now in the expanded New England geographic territory,” added Steve Walach, President of the New England Owner Operator Association, LLC. “Initiatives like Experience of the Future, Mobile Order and Pay and McDelivery resonate with consumers. SHIFT will help us communicate these enhancements so New Englanders choose McDonald’s more often.”
