MSSmedia Names Rebecca Astorga as Account Supervisor for its New Communications Division

MSSmedia has named Rebecca Astorga the Account Supervisor for its new Communications Division. Rebecca joins the Miami-based media and marketing firm following her role at PR agency TARA, Ink., where she successfully led press and event efforts for clients that included Fashion Nova, Lafayette 148 New York, Nasty Gal Swim, Patricia Field,Bluemercury, Skin Laundry, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Brickell City Centre, YachtLife,Little Dreams Foundation, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, and various other clients in the lifestyle and non-profit sectors.

In addition to managing hundreds of accounts over the span of five years, she opened the New York City office for TARA, Ink. in 2017. She led its Fashion & Beauty Division for more than two years and acted as the sole liaison to media for clients within multiple teams, from hospitality and real estate to travel and destination.

In her previous role, Rebecca catapulted Fashion Nova to become the most-Googled fashion brand of 2018, helped launch the first-ever swim line for fashion retailer Nasty Gal, and oversaw the South Florida launch of Little Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by English musician Phil Collins and Orianne Collins. She’s been instrumental in securing top-tier coverage in print, online and broadcast media outlets across General, Hispanic and International markets; organizing brand-immersive experiences, from large-scale initiatives to intimate press previews, trunk shows and charitable shopping events; and creating marketing strategies to align with press objectives and goals.

Also new to the Communications Division is Genevieve Shaffer, who, like Rebecca, joins the team from TARA, Ink. and whose background in hospitality and travel will be instrumental in securing new business and executing top-level PR strategies within that vertical. Her former clients include Art Basel Miami Beach, Miami Swim Week and Nautilus by Arlo Hotel.
