Solomon McCown & Company (SM&), a 100% women owned PR firm with a proven track record of helping clients achieve their goals through innovative, integrated communications campaigns that feature public relations, digital and social media, government relations, and crisis communications, has hired Nicole Caravella, who served at Mayor Walsh’s press secretary for two years. Nicole joins the firm as an Account Supervisor and will focus on clients in the real estate and nonprofit sectors as well as public policy.

Nicole’s experience in both government and on political campaigns will allow her to effectively manage clients’ short-term and long-term communications goals, while maintaining her strong relationships with elected officials and their staffs, and the media.

“We are very excited to welcome Nicole to our firm,” said Ashley McCown, President of Solomon McCown& Company. “Nicole’s deep familiarity with the city’s neighborhoods and the businesses community, coupled with her front-line communications expertise, make her an excellent addition to our team.”

Nicole previously worked for Mayor Martin J. Walsh as his Press Secretary, overseeing communications for all City departments and agencies, as well as the rollout of new City of Boston policies, initiatives, and legislation. Prior to working for Mayor Walsh, Nicole worked for Representative Joe Kennedy III in both his campaign and congressional offices, Secretary John Kerry in his Senate office, and Representative Paul Hodes for his 2010 Senate race.
