by | Nov 21, 2022

La’Tanta (L.T.) McCrimmon, a government affairs veteran with extensive experience on state and federal levels, will join APCO Worldwide as senior director and head of the Government Affairs practice for APCO South on December 12, Courtney Crowder, managing director of APCO South, announced.

“I would like to wholeheartedly welcome L.T. to APCO,” Crowder said. “Her sage advice and expertise have been trusted and relied on by government leaders, ranging from members of Congress and state Governors to presidential and Senate campaigns. APCO’s clients and colleagues in Raleigh and around the world now have direct access to critical insights for success from L.T., and I am excited to collaborate with her going forward.”

McCrimmon will lead APCO South’s Government Affairs practice, working with clients on state and federal government relations, advocacy and public affairs efforts. She brings expertise in bipartisan legislative negotiations, political campaigns and community and stakeholder engagement across many sectors, including energy and health care. She will further cement APCO’s role as the premier public affairs, government relations and advocacy partner for companies in North Carolina, the Southeast and across the country.

Prior to serving as the director of legislative affairs for North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, she worked as the deputy legislative director for the Governor’s Office and as the deputy director for government affairs for the NC Department of Health and Human Services. She was President Joe Biden’s North Carolina state director for his 2020 campaign.

McCrimmon joins a deep bipartisan bench of experts at APCO with a wealth of knowledge and experience, including Crowder; Hannah Morecraft, deputy managing director of APCO’s Raleigh office and APCO South; J. Todd Inman, former chief of staff to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and recent secretary of management for the State of Florida under Governor Ron DeSantis; Brandon Neal, senior director in the Campaign and Advocacy team; Licy Do Canto, managing director of the Washington, D.C. office; Dan Meyers, former Republican political operative, White House representative and deputy managing director of the D.C. office; Dan Scandling, senior director leading the federal Government Relations practice; and Trevor Pearson, senior associate director based in Raleigh, with a well-rounded resume that includes House, Senate, lobbying and campaign experience.

McCrimmon graduated from Shaw University and holds an executive master of public administration degree from North Carolina Central University. She is a native of Laurinburg, N.C.
