Qorvis EVP Elissa Dodge Honored with PR News’ 2019 Top Women in PR Award

by | Jan 30, 2019

Qorvis Communications Executive Vice President Elissa Dodge was honored as one of the Top Women in PR at the prestigious annual awards luncheon hosted by PR News in New York City.

The Top Women in PR Awards celebrate highly influential women who are making an impact in the communications field, while also inspiring the next generation of communications professionals. Dodge was recognized for contributions to innovation in communications, including her award-winning campaigns for global consumer goods manufacturer RB (maker of popular brands including Lysol, Mucinex, and Enfamil) and a multi-year public affairs campaign that has led to historic research funding increases for the Alzheimer’s Association, among other achievements.

“For more than 15 years, Elissa has been an invaluable asset to the Qorvis team – and today’s award demonstrates not only her noteworthy contributions to our clients, but also the impact she’s making on the communications industry as a whole,” said Michael Petruzzello, Founder and President of Qorvis. “Just as important, I can think of no better mentor to female communications professionals than Elissa. Her enthusiasm and commitment to client service is contagious, and, thanks to her leadership, Qorvis attracts great talent and continues to experience tremendous client growth.”

In her acceptance statement, Dodge was asked to address an important question: What advice do you have for aspiring Top Women in PR to win them their own spot at this podium someday?

“When you walk into any room, the most valuable trait you can bring with you is the steadfast commitment to be solution-oriented,” Dodge told the audience. “While the communications landscape is constantly changing and client demands can be challenging, the need for leaders who can be resourceful enough to find opportunities and always have a “plan B” is enduring.  Beyond that, the most successful women I know are those who are those who are collaborative and who practice gratitude.”

Dodge has previously been recognized by Women in Government Relations with their highest honor, the WGR Distinguished Member award.
