R&J Strategic Communications Names Scott Marioni President

by | Jul 26, 2018

R&J Strategic Communications, a full service integrated marketing and public relations agency, announced that Scott Marioni will be stepping into the position of President. Marioni will take over daily operations of the agency, as well as set R&J’s strategic vision for the future, including building the agency’s leadership team around his vision. The agency’s former President, John Lonsdorf, will be staying on full-time as Chief Executive Officer.

“There is nothing more satisfying than watching members of your team develop into true leaders, both inside the agency as well as within the industry,” said Lonsdorf. “Scott makes everyone in the agency better, which is a true hallmark of leadership. He is a man of sound judgement and unquestioned character. Scott fully understands and is completely invested in our clients, as well as who we are and where we are heading as an agency. Most importantly, Scott appreciates and personifies our vision, values and culture.”

Marioni is a veteran of the communications industry, having made a name for himself within the agency, as well as among clients and peers over the past 25 years. As President, he will bring his experience and perspective to bear in guiding the firm’s continued growth and development. One of Marioni’s chief focuses as President will be to position R&J to stay ahead of the technological curve, and to develop “new frontier services” to meet clients’ changing needs.

“Scott has been an instrumental part of our agency’s continued growth, evolution and improvement over the years,” added Lonsdorf. “I could not think of a better person to lead R&J into the future, and to continue to build our already-strong leadership team, bringing his fresh perspective, while remaining committed to our vision and values.”

“R&J has been among the most successful and respected agencies in the state for over 30 years. I have been very fortunate to have worked for, then alongside, a leader and mentor like John over the past two decades. I’m honored to be entrusted with this responsibility and I look forward to ushering in a new era for R&J, while remaining true to the principles and values that have always been the foundation of the agency’s success,” said Marioni. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this exceptional group of talented, dedicated and creative professionals moving forward.”

A native of Bridgewater, N.J., Marioni has worked as a public relations professional for more than twenty-five years. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide array of clients in variety of industries ranging from top consumer products companies and large hospital systems to tightly-focused advocacy groups. His professional background includes experience in virtually every facet of the industry including corporate communications, issues management, media relations, product publicity, event management, trade show support, public affairs and crisis management.

As CEO, Lonsdorf will continue working with R&J’s senior management team to ensure an unrelenting commitment to providing exceptional work and outstanding client service. In addition, he will work with the entire team to drive continuous improvement and strengthen the full-service integrated suite of services at R&J.
