PHG Consulting, a leader in crafting creative marketing solutions for the travel and hospitality industries, has once again been retained by the Uganda Tourism Board to help grow visitation to the destination from the North American market.

Building on a successful first-year program implemented from May 2016 to May 2017, PHG Consulting will execute another 12-month, fully integrated strategic marketing program designed to drive arrivals and increase length of stay and spend from American and Canadian travelers.

Uganda offers some of the African continent’s most diverse wildlife viewing, dramatic landscapes, and immersive cultural experiences. PHG Consulting will continue to position the country as a bucket-list destination where travelers can experience the “Big Five and More,” including the signature activity of gorilla trekking, throughout 10 national parks.

PHG Consulting utilizes its destination marketing expertise and strong relationships with travel agents, tour operators, media, and influencers to ensure Uganda’s key messages reach targeted consumer audiences in an impactful way. PHG Consulting also partners with receptive operators in Uganda to develop tourism product that appeals to North American travelers.

During the company’s first year of work with the Uganda Tourism Board, the number of travel packages in North American including Uganda grew by 141 percent, travel package sales increased by 142 percent, and media relations efforts resulted in a return on investment of 67 to 1, with the destination featured in such highly visible media outlets as Wheel of FortuneVogue.comTravelAge West, the Toronto Star, and more.
