Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), international public relations agency, has appointed Geraint Evans as Strategy Director of Public Affairs in London. Evans joins H+K having served as a Special Adviser in three Governments since 2016, most recently to Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
In a newly created role in public and political affairs, Evans will share his political and strategic acumen in London and across H+K’s global network.
The experienced Whitehall operator served under three Prime Ministers: David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson, focusing in particular on energy, transport and infrastructure projects.
He was an early champion of the Prime Minister’s “levelling up” agenda and worked with the Secretary of State for Wales on the devolution agenda. Before Government, Evans founded his own marketing and communications agency and was a PR manager for a Fortune 500 company.
Simon Whitehead, H+K UK CEO, said, “Geraint’s reputation and knowledge of the inner workings of Government is a great addition to H+K. Modern day public and political affairs is an indiscernible part of multi-channel campaigning for reputation and brand management; we continue to win fascinating and complex new mandates in this discipline across our industry sector teams. Britain will need to modernise throughout the country post-Brexit and H+K’s client offer has taken yet another step forward with the addition of Geraint’s expertise and experience.”
“As we enter a new decade, the opportunity to help build a first-class public affairs offer at a stellar agency like Hill+Knowlton Strategies is very exciting,” said Evans. “Having been at the centre of British politics during a historic period, it is clear that industry and Government can and must work more smartly together as we move to grab opportunities beyond EU exit.”
H+K has offices in more than 40 countries worldwide, delivering award winning campaigns to clients across all sectors and disciplines and with a focus on continued innovation for the industry.
