Washingtonian magazine recently announced Stratacomm was selected among their biannual listing of “50 Great Places to Work.” Stratacomm is an independently-owned, full-service strategic communications agency. Winning workplaces were chosen by evaluating a range of measures, including generous pay and benefits, interesting and meaningful work, great work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, commitment to charity and community, and the recognition and respect given to employees. Final award determinations weighed heavily on individual scores given by company employees.
Washingtonian’s Stratacomm profile observes, “This communications and marketing firm that specializes in energy and transportation – whose clients include Nissan and the Department of Energy – fosters a fun team vibe. Besides pumpkin-carving contests, Margarita Day celebrations, group walks, and TED Talk lunches, it hosts a bring-your-dog-to-work day every few months. Other doggone-good benefits: Unlimited vacation; up to $500 in an HRA plan to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses.”
“The workplace magic we strive to create is driven by one simple premise: our success is fueled by the talented, quality people we hire, retain, cultivate and reward. By treating people right, providing needed resources and having a little fun along the way, we can inspire our teams to deliver on our high expectations by offering up the very best version of themselves to their clients and colleagues every day,” said Stratacomm Managing Partner, John Fitzpatrick.
Consideration for “50 Great Places to Work” spanned a wide variety of employers in the greater Washington, D.C, metropolitan area. Winners were chosen after Washingtonian editors reviewed nearly 200 companies and more than 7,500 employee surveys where Stratacomm and employees elsewhere were asked to rate things such as how supportive their managers are and how happy they are with the healthcare plan. Stratacomm also separately conducts anonymous employee surveys yearly. Highlights from that recent effort echo Washingtonian’s conclusions and confirm the majority of people working at Stratacomm agree:
- They are proud to work at Stratacomm and would recommend it to others.
- The agency delivers quality work.
- Work/life balance is supported.
- Stratacomm managers and partners promote ethics.
- The work they do is both important and enjoyable.
“Washingtonian’s recognition validates our longstanding, dual focus on carefully nurturing and fiercely protecting Stratacomm’s workplace culture. The more time, resources and attention we invest in our people, the more they will be invested in our agency and the clients we serve,” Fitzpatrick concluded.
