Zapwater Named U.S. Public Relations Agency of Record for Tourisme Montréal

by | Mar 5, 2020

Zapwater Communications announced that it has been named the U.S. public relations agency of record for Tourisme Montréal. The agency will help raise awareness of the destination among target U.S. audiences and position the city as a must-visit destination year-round. Zapwater previously worked with Tourisme Montréal through 2019 on a project basis. The selection of Zapwater was made after a competitive tender issued by the tourism board earlier in the year.

As one of Canada’s top metropolis, Montréal offers a variety of festivals, exhibits and happenings throughout the year for tourists to create memorable moments. Among the French-speaking city’s most notable attractions are The Old Port in Old Montréal, the Mont-Royal, The Notre-Dame Basilica, Parc Jean Drapeau, The Montréal Fine Arts Museum and La Grande Roue, to name a few.

Montréal is also home to forward-thinking architecture (named a UNESCO City of Design in 2005), over 100 international festivals, and a burgeoning culinary scene, known not only for bagels and smoked meat but a wide variety delicious Quebecois delights. With a strong history and a drive to improve the future, the Canadian metropolis is a leader in the aeronautics, IT and biotechnology industries all while contributing to the advancements in medicine, multimedia, arts and urban planning.

“Our team has enjoyed working with Tourisme Montréal over the past year, and we’re thrilled to work with the destination to promote it to the U.S. market,” says David Zapata, CEO and founder of Zapwater. “We look forward to surpassing our previous results and continuing to grow the relationship with this amazing city.”

Zapwater’s scope of work includes media relations, influencer relations and strategic events and partnerships for Tourisme Montréal.
