The Christian Science Monitor: News editor Mark Sappenfield replaces Marshall Ingerson as editor, who leaves.
Recode: former Politico senior technology reporter Tony Romm joins as senior editor, policy and politics, effective March 20. Rani Molla, former Bloomberg Gadfly data columnist, joins on March 27 as data editor.
Rodale: VP/managing director Adam Campbell takes over as chief content officer. Bill Strickland, editor-in-chief of Bicycling, moves to editorial director and replaces Mike Lafavore, who leaves. Associate publisher of Men’s Health Chris Peel moves to publisher, replacing Ronan Gardiner, who becomes advertising officer for all Rodale titles.
Glamour: former Self managing editor Erin Hobday joins as same.
Popular Science: freelancer Rob Verger onboards as assistant technology editor.
CNN: Chris Cillizza, former political reporter and blogger at The Washington Post, joins as editor-at-large.
San Francisco Business Times: former San Antonio Business Journal reporter Katie Burke joins as same, and will cover hospitality, food, and retail business.
Austin Business Journal: reporter Mike Cronin, formerly with the Ashville Citizen-Times, joins as a reporter covering technology, startups, and finance.
The Wall Street Journal: staff reporter Jonathan Cheng upshifts to Seoul bureau chief. Yun-Hee Kim, Asia technology editor, moves to senior editor, live journalism for Asia. Andrew Peaple moves up to deputy markets and finance editor for Asia.
Fortune: deputy editor Clifton Leaf moves to editor-in-chief, replacing Alan Murray, who moves to Time Inc. as chief content officer. Adam Lashinsky, assistant managing editor, moves to executive editor.
Texas Monthly: executive editor Pamela Colloff will leave to become senior reporter at ProPublica and writer-at-large at The New York Times Magazine, effective May 1.
Bridal Guide: associate beauty and fashion editor Kayla Hayes moves to fashion and beauty editor.
Time: Isaac Guzmán, culture editor, leaves.
The Virginian-Pilot: Donald Luzzatto, editorial page editor, will leave in April.
Postmedia: Postmedia announces plans to cut 54 staff at Pacific Newspaper Group, which owns the Vancouver Sun and The Province, by early April.
Saskatoon Media Group: John Fraser, sports broadcaster for the Saskatoon Champions, leaves Saskatoon Media Group for a position outside of the media industry.
The Globe and Mail: undergoes a few beat changes: Janet McFarland switches from corporate governance to real estate; Dakshana Bascaramurty starts new race beat; and Justin Giovannetti moves from covering Western Canada to take over the Queen’s Park bureau effective in April. Carol Toller leaves Pilot PMR as editorial director, and returns to The Globe as deputy head of editing.
Maclean’s Magazine: as of the end of March, Adrian Lee will be the opinions and arts and science editor.
Alaska Highway News/Dawson Creek Mirror: reporter Jonny Wakefield moves to the Edmonton Journal/Edmonton Sun as of April.
CBC Vancouver: Angela Sterritt moves to host B.C. Almanac radio program.
