May 2026, X Moves Announces Sharp Cuts to Creator Payments in Order to Curb Clickbait Culture
The social platform X announced sweeping changes to its creator monetisation program that significantly reduce payments to accounts that largely repost content or engage in clickbait tactics. According to the report, the company has already cut payouts for so-called “aggregators” and plans further reductions in an attempt to prioritise original journalism.
