by | Jun 15, 2022

Goodwin, the global law firm serving innovators and investors, announced that Konstantin Shishkin has been appointed as the firm’s first Chief Communications Officer (CCO). As CCO, Shishkin, who previously served as the firm’s Managing Director of Marketing and Communications, will oversee all of the creative marketing and communications strategies for the firm and its clients. He reports directly to Goodwin’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Caplan.

“Goodwin’s unique positioning at the busy intersection of capital and innovation presents unprecedented opportunities for our clients,” said Mark Bettencourt, Goodwin’s Managing Partner. “Under Kon’s leadership over the past several years, we have successfully told this story in the market and launched the Goodwin brand in new geographies. Kon’s deep knowledge of our firm, understanding of our clients’ industries, and creative and fresh approach to marketing and communications positions us well to continue to set us apart in the competitive market.”

“Our award-winning marketing and communications department has been key to elevating the Goodwin brand and to our business of law offerings for our clients,” said Caplan. “Over the past seven plus years of working with Kon, we have been able to bring the full force of our marketing and communications function to help our clients think through and meet a wide variety of opportunities. I am thrilled to have Kon join Goodwin’s Chief Officers as we continue to support our clients through both the practice and the business of law.”

“I could not be prouder of the awesome team of marketers, communicators and creatives who work incredibly hard to tell Goodwin’s unique story as we support our lawyers, global operations departments and our clients,” said Shishkin. “Our team’s unmatched talent, coupled with the firm’s unwavering support for marketing innovation and experimentation, is quite special and I am both honored and humbled to be a part of it all, every day.”

As CCO, Shishkin will be responsible for all aspects of Goodwin’s marketing and communications functions, including thought leadership and editorial, creative and multimedia, press and social media, awards and rankings, brand measurement and development, employee engagement and internal communications, marketing technology solutions, executive communications, and marketing operations.

He joined Goodwin in January 2015 as Director of Communications and was promoted to Managing Director of Communications in October 2016. In August 2020, Shishkin added oversight of Goodwin’s full marketing function as the firm’s Managing Director of Marketing and Communications.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Shishkin led communications campaigns for financial and professional services companies, both in-house at the third-largest life insurance company in the United States and at a multinational investment bank, and at global PR agency, where his clients included law firms, banks, hedge and private equity funds, fintech companies, and accounting firms. Shishkin is a graduate of Cornell University and the Columbia Journalism School.
