Storytime. Coloring. Snacks. A nap if you need it. Just another day at Hunter PR’s New York City office? Not exactly.
Hunter PR, the agency behind the first “Bring Your Parents to Work Day,” hosted its inaugural “Hunter Playdate,” a fun and festive “work day” experience to introduce staffers’ kids to the world in which they work. Thirty children aged eight months to 18 years were invited to Hunter’s newly renovated offices to better get to know their parents’ (and aunts and uncle and “aunts” and “uncles”) home away from home, and mix and mingle our work family with our loved ones from the home front.
In 2010 and 2014, as a new twist on “Bring Your Children to Work Day,” Hunter hosted “Bring Your Parents To Work Day” in recognition of the fact that the majority of our parents have very little understanding of what their children actually do for a living in PR.
The “Hunter Playdate” introduced young attendees to the many facets of Hunter’s work: from custom photobooths and swag tables to a mock creative brainstorm for the older kids, and even a story hour where Hunter Design Studio Senior Art Director and published author/illustrator, Eric Losh, read his latest published book. The hope was that even the youngest attendees would come away with a better understanding of what mom and dad do every day at work.
