Mary Lynn Carver named Vice President and Global Head of Public Affairs at Kite

Mary Lynn Carver has been appointed Vice President and Global Head of Public Affairs at Kite, effective May 3. In this role, Mary Lynn will oversee global corporate and product communications, as well as patient advocacy.

Mary Lynn will bring to Kite a unique set of capabilities with her extensive global experience at the intersection of consumer communications, healthcare delivery, oncology research and purpose driven science organizations.

Kite, a Gilead Company, is a biopharmaceutical company based in Santa Monica, California, with commercial manufacturing operations in North America and Europe. Kite is engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies. The company is focused on chimeric antigen receptor and T cell receptor engineered cell therapies.

Mary Lynn most recently ran her own consultancy firm and served as the Global Chief Communications Officer for consumer food company General Mills.

Prior to General Mills, she held roles of increasing responsibility at AstraZeneca including leading global CEO and employee communications in London, and heading the company’s global oncology public affairs function.

Mary Lynn also has extensive academic research hospital experience having served as the Chief Communications Officer for the University of Maryland Medical System and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
