Modern Milkman, the 21st Century Milkround on a Sustainable Mission Appoints The PHA Group to Raise Awareness

Leading independent PR agency, The PHA Group, announced its appointment by Modern Milkman – the 21st century’s answer to the traditional milkround- with a blended team spanning the Manchester and London offices.

With plastic pollution is expected to double by 2040 and plastic leakage in the ocean set to triple (Modern Milkman Sustainability Report 2021), it’s never been more important to raise awareness on sustainable solutions to help future proof the planet. Led predominantly by The PHA Group’s northern division, the team will support the Manchester based brand in helping educate consumers on how to become part of the solution when it comes to sustainability.

Founded in Lancashire in 2018, the Modern Milkman was inspired by David Attenborough’s Blue Planet on BBC, after being shocked by the amount of plastic in oceans. The founding team were motivated to bring back the traditional milkround with reusable glass bottles to help reduce the use of single-use plastic in everyday life.

The Modern Milkman is completely single-use plastic-free and on a mission to revolutionise consumer habits by delivering fresh milk, groceries, and eco- friendly cleaning products directly to consumers’ doors via an easy-to-use app. Offering consumers convenience with a conscience, the company delivers feel good to doorsteps across the UK in returnable glass bottles, recyclable containers, and compostable packaging – Modern Milkman’s ‘Milkies’ collect empties to be refilled and reused again and again, already saving over 30 million plastic bottles to date, and counting.

The Modern Milkman appointed The PHA Group due to the agency’s impressive sustainability credentials alongside the team’s successful track record in raising brand awareness.
