How long have you been at Agility?

I’ve been here for nine years.

What is your role and what team are you a part of at Agility?

I’m the overseas team manager for the Enterprise Client Success team.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Agility?

I really like working with the team. My team is probably one of the biggest at Agility. We’re about eight in Canada and in the Philippines, we’ve got close to 50. The Philippines team is amazing. They’re split over two different countries, so I’ve learned a lot more about like the Philippines religions and their culture and all of that’s been so interesting. We’re close team members, even though we’re geographically very far.

Another thing I like is that every day is different. We have all kinds of clients, from TikTok to Suncor Oil to Bell Canada and Air Canada. Everybody’s business operates from a different vertical, so you’re always reading about different industries and learning a lot.

What does a typical day in the life at Agility look like for you?

My day starts nice and early at 5:00 AM. Most of our clients need their main deliverables by noon at the latest. Many Agility clients use the platform to make their own briefings, whereas our team makes media briefings for clients and sends them out daily. I don’t work on briefings as much now; I oversee that everyone has a good schedule, good morale, work on hiring, and ensure that our clients have everything they need. I review our deliverables to verify that they meet our high standard.

I’m involved in many other meetings and projects with different teams. I meet with engineering to give suggestions for features that I think the tool could use, or review workflow issues. I meet with sales when they’re working with a prospect or dealing with a trial account to make recommendations for what would be best for that client.

Do you have any advice for new employees starting at Agility?

Dive in, learn as much as you can. Join Slack channels to meet people from other teams to learn about all aspects of the business because the way that Agility is placed is very unique.

What are some skills that you’ve gained while working at Agility?

Multitasking. I am a very good multitasker now, especially when dealing with crisis communications, or clients that are anticipating a fire will need to be put out.

I’ve also learned at Agility how to enjoy my work. I come to work every day excited to be here and that’s something to be said after nine years. That’s something that you’re taught through superiors as well, is that this should be fun. It’s a cool job, it’s an interesting task. We always try to enjoy it!

What is your favorite digital tool that you use at work?

Kahoot! We do a lot of team building quizzes in Kahoot, quizzes about Agility, how to release, what the new features, or when it’s someone on the team’s birthday, we’ll do a quiz about their birthday. We’re so competitive on the Client Sucess team, which makes it fun!

What’s your favorite work snack or beverage?

I drink two pots of earl gray tea every day. I wake up at 5:00 am, so there’s a lot of caffeine! I’m notorious for eating chips for breakfast, but to justify it, eating chips at 10:00 am feels like more of an afternoon snack with my schedule.

How do you stay connected with coworkers while remote?

We’re always on Slack. My team also has a group on WhatsApp and we follow each other on Instagram. I like to see pictures of what everybody’s doing, outside of work, especially if they have kids. We are a very close-knit team. For my daughter’s birthday, our team bought her a star because she’s obsessed with space. We all try to stay very connected and celebrate everything, big or small, together.

What is your favorite after work or weekend activity?

Hanging out with my kid. My husband is in the military, so he travels a lot. So I am on mommy duty all the time. We live in New Brunswick where there are gorgeous parks. We’ve gone whale watching, camping, and love any outdoor activities.

What’s the best part of your day?

We have an internal awards program, and those are the best days! We do them monthly and annually. Pulling together data for the monthly awards is something I love doing. Who doesn’t love to give people good news and reward them for hard work! We’ve had a couple promotions recently and those have been exciting highlights to celebrate!
